Schedules, fares and aircraft can change before launch. The airline's own booking pages are the final word on days, times and prices - treat reported promotional fares as launch offers, not a standing price.
What has been announced
Uganda's national carrier will begin four-times-weekly flights between Entebbe and Accra on 27 October 2026, operating via Lagos, Nigeria, with a Boeing 737-800, Joy Business reported on 22 October. A second report, sourced to Graphic Online, says the route launches with a promotional return fare and that tickets are already on sale.
The service gives travellers between Ghana and Uganda a direct regional option in a market currently served by airlines connecting through their own hubs. Uganda Airlines says its network - reached through its Entebbe base - covers Nairobi, London, Mumbai and more than 17 destinations across Africa, the Middle East and Asia, according to the Joy Business report. The airline operates a mixed fleet of Bombardier CRJ-900 regional jets, Boeing 737-800s and Airbus A330-800neo wide-bodies.

Why it matters for Ghana-based travellers
A new entrant usually means more seats and sharper pricing. The Graphic-sourced report says the promotional fare could push competing carriers to review their prices, though any lasting reduction would depend on demand, capacity and how rivals respond. For Ghanaians visiting family, doing business or touring in East Africa, the practical win is another itinerary to compare - and Ghana is on the official visa-exempt list of Uganda's Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control, so Ghanaian passport holders do not need a visa to visit.
For the wider region, the route fits the push for better intra-African connectivity under the African Continental Free Trade Area: fewer indirect journeys through European or Middle Eastern hubs, and cheaper movement for traders and businesses between West and East Africa.

What to check before booking
The reports name the launch date, frequency and aircraft but not the operating days or fare levels. Before planning around the route, confirm the flying days, exact times and the promotional fare's conditions on Uganda Airlines' own site (ugandaairlines.com) - and check baggage and connection times if you are routing onward through Entebbe.
